Since 2018 MEAS has been exploring the world through a VHS tape. It symbolizes the fragility of human memory, recordings in the name of science, the accuracy of memories, the editing of recordings, and the ego-based nature of memories. Losing oneself, dissociation, reunion, and rediscovery produce a protocol of understanding. Over the course of eight years, MEAS has accumulated a Saga Of Truth with material and subject matter, which will be formed into a printed product in 2026-2027. This project combines art, science, and spirituality to speak the same language. The saga of works consists mostly of performances, installations, video works, and photographs. All are connected by the search for truth, its determination, and the VHS tape. This year, a new element is added – water. I strongly believe that our eternal, boundless memory is precisely in the water. The idea is supported by the famous water studies of researcher Masaru Emoto, who believed that water is “the blueprint of our reality”. There is much anecdotal evidence of how water placed in a petri dish remembers the shape of a feather and becomes visible to the human eye when it freezes. Sometimes MEAS is sure that space is water. On the way to truth, an unfiltered encounter with one’s own self is mandatory. Evidence of existence has been recorded on toxic waste since birth, and it is somehow disgustingly suitable for humans. People in their distress record their existence, making it a model for themselves. The human need to prove their own existence, somehow meaninglessly validating it with recordings from the past, has been a programmed behavioral model since the industrial revolution. Separation from nature poses an existential problem for us and we fight it with the means of the system, the collapse moving forward, with natural resources, as if to stay alive. We feel that the surface of adhesion is outside of us, even though it is within us and around us equally, at the same time. Data centers quench their thirst as they are filled with selfies and the propaganda of market powers, leaving humans thirsty for life. The time is now – not for recordings, faded memories but pure TRUTH.
